HH bond value

For HH bonds is it face value + interest= total value or is the interest already included in the face value? Tom's response If you redeem an HH bond, you will receive the face value of the bond in cash and a 1099-INT tax form reporting the amount of deferred interest printed on the front of the bond. The interest payments on the HH bond itself are paid to you, usually by direct deposit, every six months. If you haven't been receiving your interest payments, you should contact the Treasury. The Savings Bond web site has information on claiming missing HH bond interest payments here. Click here to visit the premier independent web site on Saving Bonds
