Who bought this bond?

My daughter just received a Series EE bond as a wedding gift. However, the purchaser did not include their name so we do not know who to thank. In addition, they had the bond made out incorrectly. How can we get the bond corrected and how can we find out who purchased it? Tom's response Unfortunately, the Treasury doesn't have a way to find out who purchased the savings bond. However, the Social Security Number on the bond might belong to the person who bought it. On the other hand, if the SSN belongs to one of the newlyweds, the purchaser would be someone who knew or recently asked for one of their SSNs.
